Some leaves I collected from a tree near my house.
For a while I resisted the end of summer. I didn’t want to bid farewell to the feel of the warm sun tickling the back of my arms and neck and throwing my windows open to welcome in the heat. But, change is good and inevitable and when change involves something as beautiful as autumn in New York, it is welcomed with open arms.
I have been enjoying a little time off in between contract gigs and have been soaking up all the autumnal beauty that I can in my treks throughout the city. Many of these images are giving way to some ideas that I have been photographing and will be committing to paper. Here are some of the things that I find inspiring:

Work in progress; large scale inkblot on brown paper with red and black acrylic ink.
Happy Autumn! You can see more of the shots I took in the last few days through my slideshow on Flickr. I’m considering adding these photos as a postcard set on my online store and am currently gauging interest, so if you’d like to see that happen, leave a note in the comments section or shoot me an email at jaimee@jaimeetodd.com.
Cheers!

Ahhh to live in NYC… absolutely gorgeous photos. And yes! You should definitely consider assembling a postcard series.
Heh, heh
Brooklyn Gold stole my heart. When I think of autumn this is what I envision. Cue up the John Coltrane! You have a great eye.
Thanks, Simone. Ahhh, Coltrane…
