It’s been a minute since I’ve really been able to write anything of substance because the last two weeks have been massively busy. The weekend before last, I was at the Ahlara Arts Fair and this past weekend I went out of town again to visit friends. Up until the art fair, I’ve been putting all my time and energy into getting my art ready and then doing the fair, coming back to work and running the grind again. I’ve been busy…and tired.

Most of all, I’ve missed MAKING anything. Aside from my photography, I really haven’t done any new paintings and quite frankly, it’s gotten me quite bummed. I feel like a kid on the sidelines watching all the other kids playing and not being able to join in. But that will soon change; this weekend, I will finally be home and plan on doing some catch up and plan on spending my free time just creating instead of obsessing an another big venture, at least for now. It’s not easy to exclusively devote yourself to painting; I’ve learned that you inevitably have to balance the business/marketing side with making the art but it just seems like it’s an eternity since I’ve been on lockdown to work on a painting. While I do enjoy photography, there is something so different and wonderful about that beautiful interaction between paint, paper and imagination.

Have no fear, there will be more to come, including some interesting blog posts that have been simmering on my backburner for a minute.
