It’s been a minute since I’ve done any portraits. Not including some of the ones I’ve done for the Art Students League, I haven’t really done faces in a while. Since I’m trying to beef my skills and get more into the habit of doing at least one painting a week, I thought I’d start with doing a portrait of AJ. It took me a few hours to do it and I’m happy with the looseness. The preliminary sketch looks even more like him than the painting but he seems to dig it quite well.
